HAZLET –The county’s emergency response team was requested to assist Hazlet Police last night in response to a call around 6:45 p.m. for a reported woman in distress in the area of John Street, in the back of a mobile trailer park off Palmer Avenue.
According to a spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office, she had barricaded herself inside the home. A knife was involved.
Hazlet Police called upon assistance from the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team (MOCERT).
The knife was taken away from the suspect, Swendeman said.
“The incident came to a peaceful resolution at approximately 9:40 p.m.” said Christopher Swendeman of the prosecutor’s office, adding the incident is still under investigation.
